Tacky sublimation paper is special for heat sublimation transfer of elastic fabric textiles. For the self adhesive textile transfer paper, there is binder in the coating. Therefore, the bulk sublimation paper coating can bond to the textile during heat transfer. So it can prevents ghosting when thermal tranfer printing.
For elastic fabrics, the paper and the fabric tend to slide and misalign. So there are transfer printing defects. Hence the emergence of sticky sublimation paper. When lifting the hot platen, the paper is attached to the upper platen together with the fabric. Then the high temperature textile transfer paper falls onto the fabric. This creates a secondary transfer printing. As a result, it forms a faint color reshading.
The textile transfer paper has a high adsorption capacity to the fabric. The paper has a sucrose layer underneath the viscose layer. There are many square hexagonal pores on it.
During the heat transfer, the sucrose layer will bond to the fabric. Therefore, bulk sublimation paper won’t be get attached. It also avoids causing ghosting and warping. So it improves the quality of heat sublimation transfer. And its structure is reasonable and its production cost is low.
Paper type: bulk tacky sublimation paper roll;
Sub paper width: 610, 914, 1118, 1600, 1620mm (custom);
Core size: 2 inches or 3 inches;
Pressing temperature:180~230℃;
Heat pressing time: 30~40 seconds;
Regular production viscosity grades: high (100%), medium (50%) and low (30%);
Applicable printer: any digital inkjet printer, such as HP, EPSON, ROLAND, MIMAKI, etc;
Suitable textile: high elastic fabrics, heat-shrinkable t-shirts or spandex,sportswear,football uniform, etc;
First of all, the bulk sublimation paper does not fall off automatically after pressing. At this moment, we need to tear it gently.
Secondly, there are different viscosities to choose from. So it can adapt to different printing needs.
Thirdly, it can solve the problems of ghosting. So it can avoid blurred patterns when transfer printing.
Fourthly, tacky sublimation paper can thermally bond to various elastic fabrics. Besides, the adhesion is long-lasting and stable.
In addition, fast drying speed and high transfer rate.
Finally, our textile transfer paper has good printing performance and high pattern accuracy.
When using tacky sublimation paper, users often encounter problems with insufficient or excessive adhesion. This means that the paper and the fabric do not stick together. On the contrary, if the paper is too sticky, it is difficult to peel off the paper.
So how can you use adhesive sublimation paper rightly?
Factors influencing the adhesion of textile sublimation transfer paper
Different fabrics and air humidities, different requirements for the bond strength of tacky paper. We have a general adhesive sublimation paper for most fabrics. In addition, we also developed a higher sticky paper.
The bond strength increases by 50%. It is mainly suitable for the drier autumn and winter. Or this tacky sublimation paper is applicable for where the fabric is relatively smooth.
The fabric is one of the main factors affecting the bonding force. Generally, the smoother the fabric, the lower the bonding force of the sticky paper to the fabric.
During the thermal transfer process, the binder of the textile transfer paper is in a molten state. If the fabric is smooth, the bonding force is less. For smooth stretch fabrics, we advise to choose a high tacky sublimation paper.
The adhesion strength of sticky sublimation paper is related to the moisture during transfer printing. Generally high moisture will result in strong adhesion. We can find that the strength is very good in spring and summer. But once autumn and winter arrive, the tacky sublimation paper does not stick well enough.
This is mostly because the moisture of the paper and fabric is too low. In this case, try placing the fabrics in a high humidity environment. Let them absorb the moisture before transferring. Also take care when printing on sticky paper to control the drying level. Do not over-dry the textile transfer paper.
If not printing, the adhesive sublimation paper should not be exposed to air for long time. Otherwise, the tackiness of the sticky paper will be weak.
We have done tests. Seal the sticky textile transfer paper well. If keep it for over 6 months, the stickiness does not diminish.
After printing, it is important to transfer it promptly. If left for several days, the adhesion will weaken. The transfer of printed sticky paper is usually required within 2-24 hours. If it is too late to transfer, it also needs to seal it well.
In short, to use adhesive textile transfer paper, pls note below:
① Firstly, choose a sticky sublimation paper with the right adhesive strength (base on fabric, season, pattern).
② Secondly, attention to moisture during the transfer process (i.e. fabric and paper moisture).
③ Finally, pay attention to the preservation of the tacky sublimation paper.
